How do you categorise electric bikes?

With Laka you can insure any electric bicycle/e-bike which meets the relevant UK rules for ‘electrically assisted pedal cycles’ (EAPC’s).  Up-to-date guidance on this can be found here.

If it is found that you have listed an e-bike that does not meet current EAPC guidelines your cover could be invalid. So if you are unsure please reach out to us for help!

E-bikes are also subject to specific pricing in some cases.  This is applied to insured gear that is correctly listed according to bike ‘Type’, which is normally declared when you join.
