With her vast experience as an insurance executive, as well as her passion for cycling and the outdoors, Amanda is the perfect fit for joining our board of directors.
Most recently, Amanda was the Chief Executive of Zurich Insurance Group, EMEA and Global Banking Partnerships, and chaired the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
We have had Amanda on our radar for a couple years since she put out a note on social media praising our customer-centric approach. When I read in the news that she was leaving Zurich I knew I had to win her over for Laka’s mission.
I have come to know Amanda as a charismatic leader, surely demonstrated by being named Woman of Achievement by Women in the City and featured on the 2019 list of Yahoo Finance’s 100 Women Executives.
Amanda's passion for cycling is unchallenged, being a local expert on the Hampshire lanes which have beautiful scenery as well as a plethora of lumpy hills. In 2019 Amanda registered 139 Strava activities aboard her Giant Liv Langma Advanced SLo, her Specialized Ruby Pro and the Wattbike, Zwift & Peloton when the weather wasn’t favorable.
With an understanding of the needs and demands of the modern cyclist, Amanda will enable us to deliver more innovative and exciting products to our customers!
As well as being a keen cyclist, Amanda also has a keen interest in rugby being recently appointed as chair of Welsh rugby’s Professional Rugby Board.
We will be in good company as Amanda has recently joined Aviva, ERS and Trov in various functions, to name but a few.
